Kinja'd!!!

You’ve been selected as today’s winner. Your prize? A $10,000 gift card to Craigslist! Hooray!

As I’m sure many of you do, I have a habit of trolling through craigslist for things (mainly cars) I can’t afford, or don’t need. So, I figured it would be fun (therapeutic) to compile a list of bad decisions that I would spend $10k on.

Rules:

1. You can only use posts found within your area, for instance, I am only searching in the Phoenix region. Items listed “near your area” apply as well.

2. You must use all $10,000; any surplus will be discarded (clarification:)

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

3. Condition of items (let’s be real, cars) and cost to repair are irrelevant

My list is as follows:

$2900

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

There’s no applicable reason I chose this, just always had a soft spot for the design. And LUXURY.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

$2400

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

No explanation needed. Except..who’s Manuél?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

$2500

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

For those times I feel like hitting some trails here in AZ

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

$500

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

And I’ll take this and stuff it with...

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

$800

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

This behemoth, and then add...

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

$500

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

The rims from this c70.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

$400

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Which leaves me juuust enough to scoop up this bad boy.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

And there you have it! $10,000 spent in the matter of mere minutes. Seriously, finding all this stuff took like 30 minutes. Do I have a problem? Probably. Am I worried about it? Should be. Do I regret any of it? Of course not.

Tunes for your time:

I both commend your bravery and feel for your sanity with the thought of buying a project flying machine off Craigslist. Godspeed good sir.

Also, why are none of the $750 cars on my local cl as awesome as that Subaru van.

I wonder who you call to inspect a ballistic parachute? As an A&P I know I’m not qualified. I wonder if an A&P that’s also a certified parachute rigger would qualify, or if you need a certification from the manufacturer?

Maybe the next time you come to Ohio for sheep we can work a deal on dropping off a funky old Subaru along the way. ;)

I’ve been shopping for inexpensive welders as it is. I’ll probably buy one if I get the regular Christmas money from family.

The steam cleaner seemed like a necessity given that I included a sub$1000 RV.

In reality I would’ve kept a more accurate running total and dove deeper into tool ads.

typo or not, that’s the price posted! a deals a deal.

also, you could have spent the last $2 if craigslist didn’t remove the personal ads...but you’d end up leaving with more than you bargained for.

with herpes.

Hahaha, yeah.

I’m actually curious about that TL. $500 is almost “why the hell not?” IF it’s legit, but it seems like - given the rest of the ad - there’s probably a number missing, probably off the front.
